Why You Need An Offset Spatula Immediately
I don't think it's a huge secret that spatulas are the most amazing kitchen tools around but there is one spatula in particular that deserves more of the spotlight. The offset.
Working in a kitchen, we use my fair share of tools but we consistently reach for our offset spatula the most. We feel like it's our handy little side kick. Our right hand man. Our hype girl. It can do it all.
We already know it's good at frosting a cake, that's a given, and it really helps to get those nice swoops. We truly believe, though, it's uses are endless. We use it to help style food, roll asparagus around on a grill, test the doneness of potatoes and other veggies when roasting some for lunch, and help me mark straight lines before cutting into beautifully frosted brownies.
An offset is the only tool we needed to achieve the perfect drips of ganache. We also choose an offset over a knife to help release the sides of a cake or cheesecake before removing it from the pan because we get a better angle and it does less damage. We could rave about the offset spatula for days, but instead we'll leave you with this one, that's usually hanging out in our apron pocket.
